What's the different between Intel core duo with Intel core 2 duo?

It's second generation of dual processor, it has better performance than the old core duo.

Many test prove that the core 2 duo is better in different percentage performance from core duo around 9% to 60%, depend on what kind of application that you run.

If you already have core duo no need to upgrade to core 2 duo.
but if you're going to buy new one I'll recommend core 2 duo because the price almost the same.

Intel is using the sequential naming scheme it used for its famous Pentium brand and applying it to the new Core line of chips.

Core Duo was the first line of dual core processors ( the D series such as 915D)
Core 2 Duo is the second line of dual core processors (like the E6400)
Core 3 Duo will be the third ...
So on & so forth.

Core duo is the notebook cpu (typically), the Core duo 2 is the newest cpu. Just goto www.intel.com for details.

I'll keep it simple, Just pentiums 1,2 3, and 4, one should be faster then the other the more advance it is.
