wife slips husband zoloft unknowingly?
A friend of ours recently told us that she had been spiking her husbands drinks w/ Zoloft. It was her perscrip . she and her husband have had some problems but nothing drastic.( married 18 yrs, she is little overweight , low self esteem.. he is a good looking guy, has been told more lately that he is and been chatting w/ ladies on line, which she has done also w/ men and introduced him to web chat) In her opinion she thought he needed to be on it because of his behavior. we think her perscrip is warrented but he seems fine only a little whacked because of her.
we told him about it after she told us and he said he already knew when he found pieces in his coffee.
what is your opinion..crazy ? deperate ? unlawful?

It is against the law to for someone to knowingly give anyone any type of drug prescribed or not to someone. First off the person you give it to might have an allergic reaction that might be serious enough to cause death or kidney, liver failure. Hence if any authorities caught wind of it depending on the state that this wife lives in she could be brought to court for the most serious crime of attempted murder if something bad happened. The husband also has serious reason to where he could even charge his wife with something if he decided to. Your best bet would be to try to stay out of this situation. The wife sounds a bit off her rocker and if for any reason she decides that you interfered in her decisions of drugging her husband, you letting her in your home means that you are giving her a chance to do the same to you. If you feel that there is a real serious situation brewing in your friends home I would suggest of contacting your locale authorities. Good luck to you.

How about all of the above. Unlawful - obviously. On all RX bottles it says it is unlawful to distribute this med to anyone besides for whom the rx is written. She obviously isn't worried about his health. Some can have allergic reactions and horrible side effects when taking this anti-depressent. Not to mention any dangerous or deadly interactions with other meds he may be on. He needs to leave this crazy woman and find someone he can trust.

i agree it is crazy desperate and unlawful, she better pray that he never becomes even slightly ill, he could press charges, also what if some day he takes some over the counter med. that dosnt react well with the zoloft, she is an idiot and obviously does not value her husbands health in any way shape or form, she needs help immediately

The woman obviously has no morals or common sense. She has a lot of nerve giving her husband drugs without him knowing about it. Everybody reacts differently to drugs, she is lucky that he didn't have a severe reaction to her meds. He on the other hand is a fool for allowing her to continue to drug him, and even more of a fool for not telling her that he was aware she was drugging him. These are the kind of people that poison each other when things get tough in their marriage. We'll be reading about them in the paper someday...

If she is slipping him Zoloft now, then who knows what she will do later on. This woman sounds dangerous and needs serious help. Be a good friend and report her to the authorities now so she can get the help she needs before she kills someone.

Zoloft is not for everyone. People taking MAOIs or pimozide shouldn't take Zoloft. Side effects may include dry mouth, insomnia, sexual side effects, diarrhea, nausea and sleepiness. In studies, few people were bothered enough by side effects to stop taking Zoloft. It is prescription medicine. Your friend should stop her game it is dangerous and illegal.

Unlawful distribution of a controlled substance for starters...He needs to have her up on charges, in divorce court and not allowed within 1000ft of him...That is messed up stuff.
She has no right to drug him without his knowledge. She has just tossed all of the trust they ever had, bent it over the table and raped it. She needs to go away...for a while.

Uh...completely against the law!!!!!! Not only is she (in the eyes of the law) poisoning him..(giving him a substance that can cause great harm) but doing it carelessly. There can be severe side effects from any antidepressent medication and he should not be so reckless in his acknowledgement. Not only that, but COME ON!!! You don't do that to someone that you love and are bonded in marriage to!!!!

Incredibly unlawful...it is both immoral and illegal to give some prescription medication without them knowing, and had the man died or become seriously ill because of this, she would have been prosecuted.
